The Atlas Mystery is now open for admission
There’s nothing quite like going to the theater to see a movie on the big screen. Top Right Corner loves the theater experience too, and in their new VR-exclusive game, The Atlas Mystery, players will not only get to explore a historic Hollywood theater, but solve an age-old mystery.
Set in the infamous Atlas Theater, “a luxurious 1940s era movie palace” that was host to a “haunting Hollywood tragedy”, players take on the role of the theater’s new floor manager. It’s not all popcorn and sodas, however, and players will quickly find themselves thrust into a “thrilling supernatural murder mystery” filled with “shocking twists and haunting revelations.” Throughout their quest, players will discover “startling artifacts” while working through a “twisted escape room-styled labyrinth”, with “increasingly peculiar puzzles” hiding the theater’s “dark history.’’
A collaboration between Hollywood and game industry veterans, Top Right Corner aims to marry the art forms of classic cinema and adventure puzzle gaming through the unique lens of VR. The game’s writer, Eric Kleifield, states, “I’m thrilled to open the doors to the Atlas Theater and invite players to immerse themselves in an atmospheric and detailed world inspired by my love of classic cinema.” The game also features an original score by composers Evan Goldman (Detective Pikachu) and Chris Ryan (Shazam!), lending the production a “cinematic authenticity.”
The Atlas Mystery is available now on Steam, Viveport and Meta Quest, with the game’s soundtrack also available on Steam and “additional audio streaming platforms.”
