Mothmen 1966 swarms onto PC and consoles
Sister Wendy Beckett said when observing the Lascaux cave paintings, “Art changes, but it doesn’t get better.”
It’s safe to say Chorus Worldwide agrees with this sentiment. Their upcoming title, Mothmen 1966, embraces a classic CGA graphics style in order to create a unique and authentic retro-horror adventure.
Mothmen 1966 is “set amongst the strange occurrences of the Leonid meteor shower of 1966.” “A young couple, a gas station owner, and a paranormal investigator” find themselves entangled in a conspiracy with “mysterious men in black” and “horrifying creatures” lying in wait.
Chorus Worldwide describes Mothmen 1966 as a “choose your own adventure style” game with “accessible brain-ticking puzzles throughout.” Writer Nico Saraintaris and artist Fernando Martinez Ruppel state the game is “a visual novel featuring a fusion of exceptional writing and stunning illustration” for “anyone who enjoys fine storytelling.”
Sporting a collection of chunky chip sound effects and pixelated neon visuals, Mothmen 1966 is “inspired by mid-20th century pulp fiction and 80s home computer graphics.” It will be the first in a trilogy of “Pixel Pulp” games made in this style. Mothmen 1966 is released today on Windows and Mac (via Steam), Switch, and Playstation and Xbox consoles.
